I bought a 60(20 inches x 5ft) and 80gallon (24 inches x 5ft)propane tank the other day. Also snagged a piece of 4x5 ft piece of steel from a scrap yard. It is about 3/8 to 1/4 thick, I plan to use this for my firebox. Looking to get some ¾ #9 expanded metal for the cooking grate, some ⅛inch thick 1x1 square tubing to attach the grates too. Also going to get some ⅛ inch thick flat stock about 1½ inches wide for seals on the doors. Had some questions about how big to make the doors? I've read it needs to be like 12 and 3 on the cc, also curious how long it should be? As for cutting the doors, I've heard warping can become a problem, so I've read to cut the top of the door then weld the hinges on is that correct? Also any other pointers on how to make the process go smoothly would be much appreciated! I'll post a couple pictures of what I would like it to look like. Thanks for any replys!

For the door seals, the metal only needs to be 0.050" thick.. 18 gauge or so.. That way it's thin enough to bend and conform to your CC to seal to stop air leaks...

Here is my idea of how and where the door should be placed.....
