I've been scant recently. June is my busiest work month of the year. A week of convention in Orlando, and all of the follow up. So I decided to whip up a tri-tip.For Independence day. Plus I gave myself a little birthday present a week ago.

Happy Independence day Y'all

Happy birthday, John.
Every time I see an old geezer driving a Mustang GT, I think that could be me. I had three Mustangs in my younger years, a 69 Mach I in high school and a couple of 85 five speed cars. I've been looking but the right car hasn't come my way and besides, the wife gets a new car first.
Now, that Tri Tip. It looks amazing!

Very cool, Jana & I rented a mustang that looked just like that when we got married back in 1999. Congrats on the ride, she's sweet! Tri-tip looks killer as well.

Great looking tri-tip.

I have been itching to do a tri-tip, but they are $12 pound at Safeway, and closer to $17 a pound at the stores with a butcher.

But it's your birthday......splurge.............Happy B'day.

thanks all,
it was a wonky looking tri-tip. but we got Caribbean butchers down here. no one knows what a west coast tri-tip should be cut like, anyways leftovers making real good french dips after running thru the deli slicer.

My first car out of high school was a '72 coupe.

Come November and December, I'll let you know about tri-tip at the Costco Business Center. I picked up a really nice 4 pack last year. Brian bmudd14474 bmudd14474 prepared and cooked 2 of them at the last gathering. I don't recall any California complaints on the quality

I am glad that you had the opportunity to enjoy a tri-tip. The best cut of beef in my opinion.

On the other end I am biased on the Mustang name. I previously had a 1967 Ford Mustang and the name should have died out in 1973 when the smog rules killed them.

The newer fake plastic ones still have a lot of power but lack the beauty and character of the originals. The same could be said with the Bronco name.

I guess I am just old and bitter about that.

TT looks great John and I'm slowly edging the wife towards med rare but it's taken a while.
Congrats on the birthday and your new smooth ride!

Keith
