Looks really cool just another thing I don't need.

I’ve been using my Artemis to print all sorts of cheese making accessories using food safe PLA.
Unless you can create a 3d model for the part you have to see if you can find one on a site like thingiverse, maybe spelled wrong. If you search and find a model you will know it can be done, and can tell how much material it will take.I know this post is a few months old, but I need to ask a couple of questions before I pull the trigger on a 3D printer...
You say you're printing accessories for cheesemaking (my most recent rabbit hole!)...are you printing molds? If so...
I have ZERO experience with anything 3D print-related, but I've been doing a lot of research and understand the basics (I think, anyway). Furthermore, anything I'd eventually print, would have a practical purpose instead of a "hey, this is so cool!" kind of purpose (drill bit holders, drawer dividers, etc).
- Can you 3D print a HARD cheese mold? I understand the sanitary issues that can come into play and that the filament must be food-grade/safe, but will it withstand the pressure?
- If so, can you give me an idea of how much filament it takes to print, for example, a 6" tall x 6" diameter hard cheese mold?
Thanks!
I figured as much!My big recommendation would be turn infill to 100%. It will take forever and probably use most of a spool if it's a big mold, but otherwise liquid tends to find its way inside the walls to molder.
