Wow it has been a while since you built the copper pot Civil. It didn't seem that long ago.

Tell me about it Chris! Coming up on 6 years ago, although that helps me feel better that its staring to need a little TLC.....Its spend 4 years out in the weather as well, something I still working on resolving and then the Copper Pot will get a face lift!

I wish you didn't have to do the face-lift, but I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you for your quick - and helpful reply

I am still in the "in my head" stage of design.
I am scouring youtube and every other source I can find for ideas. Funny thing is, not everyone agrees on what is "best" ... :-)

I had not thought of creating my own post, but that might be a good idea to get advice from others who have actually built their smoker.
There is ALOT of info out there....some good, LOTS not good on design. One thing I can say is the calculator on the forum is made for patio size RF's. Patio size need to be designed differently than larger ones because of the friction loses in the system. The exhaust outflow is the most important element of the patio size design, ie they need a good draft to function well. I made a note of the %'s above the calculator that I used in the body of this thread.
I agree... And I will wait and comment there...
This and if you ping me (I have alot going on at the moment and don't catch all the threads) when you start it I will watch your build! PS remember it is supposed to be a fun and rewarding process.......

Thanks and nothing to extreme!....ie new roller bearings in the wheels, a Tel Tru, a stainless burner grate, larger probe openings, new handles (likely stabilized walnut), and a bit more copper color! I will post for sure.....I have a couple bathroom/tile shower projects in front of that.....
