Just asking, so we all know about running a 230v rated element at 120 is 1/4, NOT 1/2 the wattage , right?

Nothing at all bad or wrong w doing that, TOTALLY fine to do, NO problem   and it will last forever, but just sayin.

But it will be 1/4 the wattage heat output, not 1/2.

Just an FYI for some.         Marc

Easy to figure out, throw an amp gauge on it then measure the actual voltage. The watts = Amps X Volts.

Edit: I had a long description laying out the relationship between force and power using ohms law but then I thought , what the hell am I doing... this is a smoking meat forum.

Hello Marc, yes I am picking up on what you are laying down. I have also noticed that and started to pop in on a few posts for when I see a possible safety issue in the makingings. I am a welder by trade with oil and gas related welding experience, so if I happen to run across a post and someone wants to use a used volatile container or vessel? I stop and ask a few question about their project.

We are all here to have fun and learn and try new things, I don't want to see anyone hurt themselves in the process.

I gave you a point for helping little Brother out with your expertise, I thought that was stand up of you!
