This is my first smoke on the grand prize GOSM 3405BGW I won at the 1st Annual SMF Round-Up. My first time using a gasser, a learning curve -
I decided to smoke a meatloaf and ABT's.

Ambient temp was 91 deg. F, light breeze. Got the GOSM lit and set the control valve as low as it would go. It settled in at 250 deg. F. It has a 15-20 deg. difference between the lower and upper racks, upper is hotter, something to think about on large quantity smokes. Have to plan what goes where. The smoker perked along at 250 deg. the entire smoke.
I used cherry and apple for smoke. It makes a lot of smoke at first when the chips light, then goes to the thin blue and sometimes you can't see any smoke at all, but you can smell it. Cherry and apple smell fine!
I put the meatloaf on the top rack and the ABT's on the third level down. Ran the probe through the top vent to the meatloaf and placed a piece of wood on top of the smoker to set the transmitter on.
The ABT's were done first. I removed them and refilled one of the chip boxes. At 150 deg. I coated the top of the meatloaf with ketchup and let it continue to 160 deg. Turned out great!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Jane arrived home from work, it's Friday! Hot ABT's and cold beer while the meatloaf finished worked just fine.
All in all, it was a very good first smoke! Nice smoker, easy to use.
Not retiring the Geezer though!

Mike, nice pics of the new GOSM in use. Hope you enjoy it. Rhonda just said we need to go shopping, cuboard is getting low. Think I'll pick up something to smoke tomorrow, a butt, Abt's, fatties, bologna. Good luck with your new smoker, and enjoy.
What a way to break in the new GOSM! That is some fine looking grub! My smoker also has a temperature difference between top and bottom. When smoking several things, I take advantage of it like I do on my grill where one side is hotter then the other and rotate things around accordingly.
Great looking grub there Mike, I think the new smoker and you are a team now!
I'm super happy you had an excellent smoke Mike. Sounds like you got it going on now. Keep the Geezer happy and let it smoke too, but enjoy that GOSM.

Keep Smokin
The deal on the GOSM is - it's almost too easy!

Gotta keep smokin' on the Geezer and the charcoal GOSM to keep my hand in.
