My Grandpa was a Master Plumber in the NYC school system. They were very protective about who was able to join the union back then. You basically had to be a family member to get in. He passed away the year before I was born, and my grandmother lived a very good life on his pension. She's the only person I know that has owned 4 cars , two houses and never had a drivers license or a real job.and how many rolls of toilet paper for the next days???
