    A Frozen Propane Tank ?

I had just finished up a spatch chicken yesterday afternoon and was trying to move the propane bottle. All of a sudden it seemed to have gotten very heavy and I couldn't figure it out. Turns out that it had frozen to the concrete patio and had ice all over the bottom 1/2. I have never seen...

I am about to do a mailbox mod to my Masterbuilt and have a question.

I have the propane version, 2 door and am about 3/4 done with doing the mod. I took the brace off of the smoker and am ready to cut out the back of the mail box. Unlike all the other pictures of my smoker that I can find on the internet, mine has 2 vent holes already cut into the sides. I was...

How do I cool down my smoker ?

It's a MasterbuiltPro, 30", propane. I am about to try to make some jerky which calls for a temp of 150. Since I am new to this game I thought that I would give the smoker a test drive. Well, I set it as if I were about to put the meat in, set it to the lowest settings, and opened a beer. The...

I want to "mailbox" mod my MB Dual Fuel Pro, 30"

and was wondering if it would work out ok. I use the AMZNP ? and it would work a lot better if it were in an external housing like the mailbox. So, this is a picture of the side of my MB showing the vent and an attachment that is meant to be able to attach the propane tank. I never use it for...

Another 1st timer for TriTip and I need some guidance.

I might have messed up. I read a recipe on another site that sounded tasty so I went and got the ingredients. I was attracted to the ingredients that I know that my wife is crazy about. Mostly I wanted to try my new smoker, a Masterbuilt non electric. Here is the recipe and it's meant to be...

Newbie here witha couple of questions.

For those with the AMZNP smoke generator, do you still use the wood pan or did you set it aside. It seems like a lot of folks do not use the pan filled with water so do you set aside and make use of the room for something else ? Thanks.

I think I did some stuff wrong

This was my 1st shot at smoking cheese. My smoker is an MES 30 but not electric. I bought 3 different cheeses which might have been a mistake. Sharp cheddar, Fontina, Hvarti with the cheddar being hard and the other two being soft. I smoked them about 2.5 hours at temperatures ranging from 65...

A few more questions before I attempt this, if you don't mind.

    1) When you put the pellets or sawdust into the AMNPS, do you just pour them in and tidy up, or do you squeeze them together ? 2) I plan on using another independent internal thermometer, one with proven accuracy. Will the temp inside the smoker be able to reach higher temps with the bird out...

I need help to predict the cooking time

I am going to try my 1st smoked turkey on Monday. My wife, bless her heart got the biggest she could find at 22lbs. It is 8% infused goodies of some kind and we will brine it about 24 hours. About how long will it take in my MES (no E) 22" ? I will keep it set at around 225 - 250. I am...

    My 1st time using a MEF,,,,without the "E"

In other words mine is not electrric. Plus this is my 1st time using the techniques, recipes, and equipment mentioned here. I was really interested in doing a brined turkey but had thought that I better practice on something smaller. So, I had 4 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts in 5...

    A-Maze--in smoke

I just got my new Amaze-in smoke maker and have a question. Do you use it in addition to the wood chips or instead of ? Also, do you use wood chips or chunks as the normal smoke making ingredient ? I have a Masterbuilt 30" but not the electric. Thanks

    Hello everyone and

it's very nice to meet you. Real name is George and I hail from Houston Tejas and have a few years smoking experience. Though it has fallen into disuse for a few reasons. I had a Brinkman, the pill shaped thing, gas fired. It had a lot of miles on it and the bottom kettle had big holes in it. I...
