Doctor release me to do a little work so I worked on the smoker for the first time in 15 weeks. Was able to get it mounted to the cart. I'm still in therapy working on hand strength but it is getting there. Will hopefully get back on it and get it completed. Got to cut in door, mount chimney...
I totally agree with SmoklinAl. Great job for first build. What I liked reading though this was the research you did to help make right choices. Welding only gets better with practice and no better way to practice is building smokers! Looking forward seeing more pictures. Thanks for sharing.
To all followers of this post it will be a while until I get it done. Cut my forearm working on it last weekend requiring surgery a will down for 6 weeks or more.
My wife and mother in law wanted some ribs so I smoked 3 slabs for them yesterday. Used apple wood and smoked at 250 degrees. Foiled at 3 hours for 2 hours. Did not place back on the racks after foiling just rest for 30 mins and cut them.
