More like beak-to-feet!
Black chicken & fresh ho-made tofu soup.
Basic simple cure-all soup. Chicken, tofu, salt, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, garlic. Served with a fresh squeeze of lime and pepper sauce. Our friend dropped off freshly made tofu on Sunday.
I get the heads and feet .
Sorry everyone, no pics on the smoker. But I figure most everyone has seen a bird on the smoker. Caught a great sale at a local market for whole chickens @0.56/lb. Bought 8 of them, 6 broken down for dog food in a couple weeks, but what to with the other two...
You all know what forum this is...
Shakshuka. 1st time ever having this, no clue on authenticity of taste for this North African dish, but I would definitely make it again. I happened across the recipe while browsing something or another a couple weeks ago. I was missing a couple traditional ingredients, but I made do what I had...
Last few weeks we have been using whats available. Sort of a blessing, good to use upwhat we have. These two soups are not exactly authentic, more of a Korean inspired kitchen sink stoups (somewhere between soup & stew).
Leftover ground pork sauteed with bok choy, carrots and onions and some...
Haven't been around much, this whole covid thing has me putting in ridiculous hours. And I'm salary sooo... its not OT.

Quick-ish and easy dinner. Prep time, two 5min. Idle time 1hr.
Ingredients:
Shrimp, spinach, bleu cheese, garlic, basil. Black pepper and Cayenne. Also added about a ladle full of my tomato soup from the night before. No salt added.
I start by brining the shrimp in cold water, about a tsp of...
Wife and I were talking about Grilled cheese, but we didn't have any. While we were at the store, we thought that grilled cheese and tomato soup sounded good. We were standing in the canned soup aisle and just couldn't bring myself to settle. Quick re-route to the produce aisle and was onto...
Had an interesting lunchroom conversation at work today. One of my employees was talking about some old-world Italian recipe that consisted of the organs from a young milk-fed goat that are chopped up into a meatball, skewered, wrapped in its intestines and grilled over an open flame.
The...

Every year someone of our friends like to gather for a Friendsgiving dinner close to Thanksgiving. Yes, it's sort of a made up gathering for us to enjoy great food and hang out. However this year's event was delayed due to Life, the universe and everything. The first availablity for everyone was...
Prime Rib two ways: oven roasted and smoked.
1st one completed on Christmas, second one completed last night for dinner with friends (FriendsMas?)
Whatever itscalled isn't important right now. What is important, at least to me is the "why" and "how."
First, the meat. Nothing extravagant, I...
Elf-leg stew.
Or frog legs just dropped into the etouffee. Gater tale already places. Sprinkling in some jumbo shrimp when I cut the heat.
Probably no plate shot, tired, hungry and tired.
The last meal in my kitchen before redecorating for Christmas dinner. Wife loves all the fancy setup and decor, but I'm happy with the simple and understated setup. I like letting my food be the decor. Bright colors and the attractive display of our sushi party (2 guests, wife and I). Overkill...
Craving a taste of summer after a few days this month of eating poorly and a few too many sweets and homebrews.
Seared ahi over cucumber, tomato, greens. Dressing: cilantro, black pepper and lime juice.
Christmas morning already? Sure fees feels like it sitting on my living room floor opening my box that just arrived.
I have a grinder already, and it works good enough. In fact, it actually meets all of my personal culinary needs. Kitchner #12 (reg$150, got on an Amazon flash for $111).
So why...
Was feeling under the weather yesterday as was Mrs. S-met. She threw together a quick soup to get us back on track while I was heading home from the office:
Tofu, chicken pot stickers, ginger, lemongrass and garlic in a spicy chicken stock. Top with cilantro, green onions and a squeeze of lime.
