    pork shoulder

thanks.......... I am wondering if anyone injects their pork shoulder with anything before smoking it. I love the taste when I pull it apart. It is better the next day, for I feel the smoke flavor is more intense. If anyone injects it, what do they inject it with?

    pork shoulder

it took about 8 hours for a 6# piece. well worth it. It stalled out at about 169º for alittle bit. It cooked for about 6 hours total and then wrapped in a towel and put it in a cooler. Just pulled it out of the cooler after about 1 1/2 -2 hours and picked it apart with a fork. I have been...

hide the little ones. I have some porn for ya

The weekend would not be the same if I didn't smoke something. I bought a 6# pork shoulder. I had to put a fattie on there at the same time so I could have some appetizers before the pulled pork. Chicken leg/thigh quarters are going on alittle later. Food for the whole week, yum!

    beer can chicken?

That's what I figured. Since you posted it I remember reading people using Dr. Pepper. I particularly don't like it, but if it gives a good flavor to the chicken then what the hay. I don't want to waste any beers, lol. I guess I will have to go buy some chickens and it's "live and learn"...

    beer can chicken?

Does beer add flavor to the chicken or does it just keep it juicy? I was thinking of doing one, but what beer to use? Do the darker beers infuse? better flavor? I have read that some people have put some dry rub in the can too. What kinda wood is best to smoke with? thanks
