I went to the local grocery store with my wife on Friday afternoon to pick up some chicken breasts and ran across something that I hadn't seen in a long time - turkeylegs! Every time I think of turkeylegs, it brings back memories of Disney World's smoked turkeylegs at Frontierland. Now, since...

Has anyone every tried to smoke turkeylegs like Disney World? If you never had them, let me tell you its the best turkey ever. It almost tast like smoked ham.
Was wondering if anyone had a recipe for smoked turkeylegs that come out like the ones in Disney.
Actually the applebee's around here has pulled pork taco's they call them, but they use an egg roll wrapper, they fry that into a taco shape, then fill it with pulled pork and top with an asian slaw, they are really good actually, and I can't imagine how good they would be with smoked pulled...

Personally I'm not a fan of anything Disney, hence have not had their turkeylegs. When I do smoke them I get the biggest ones I can. Last ones were about 1 3/4 pounds a piece. I will brine them in a simple solution of water, salt and brown sugar for up to 12 hours. Last smoke I actually did...
Last year at the NJ State Q champs, some guy was selling corn on the cob out of a big roaster that looks like some of the commercial chicken/rib smokers. It was excellent, he pulled the husks back, whacked it with some butter and you just walked around eating it like that! Caveman food. Oooh..A...
I haven't seen any posts here about turkeylegs. Last time we went to Disney they sold them at a couple different parks and people just walked around eating them like cavemen. I think I would like to try some, I was just wondering if anyone had ever tried them...
