I closed all the vents except for one of the bottom ones, which I left about 1/3 open. Brought it down some. Took the lid off to release extra heat and was able to get it back down to 250 fairly quickly. Thanks buckaholic.
Smoking a couple racks of ribs on my WSM. Had temp sitting steady at 250 for the first couple hours. I came out to wrap my ribs and temp had jumped up to 350. Looked inside and one of my wood chunks had ignited instead of smoldering. I pulled it out with tongs. What ways do you guys find helps...
Edie is our 2nd boxer that we've gotten from a rescue. My wife and daughter keep telling me she needs a buddy, so we'll probably be adding another member of the family soon.
Up getting my WSM fired up to throw on a couple butts for my Dad's 72nd birthday celebration tomorrow and my boxer, Edie, hasn't left my side the whole time. Was wondering if anybody else had a four legged friend that keeps them company on smokes?
Well,I had a serious craving for some pulled pork yesterday. While there are lots of places around me to get good pulled pork(Memphis area), it gave me a reason to do the first overnight smoke on my month old 18.5" WSM.
I had to work a little late yesterday so I ran by Wal-Mart on the way home...
You'll love that thing. I got the 18.5inch about a month ago. Have used it every weekend since. Lots of people on here have WSM's so you can always find answers for just about anything you can think of.
