No idea if this is widespread, but my Walmart in Central Ohio had a pallet and a half of Pit Boss Competition blend pellets for $10 for a 40lb bag (normally already a good deal at $19.76/bag) These aren't my favorite pellets, but definitely serviceable, especially on high temp cooks.

I think it's widespread.  Just got my pellet grill and walmart was the only place close to me in NJ that had pellets.  Wound up with the competition blend as pictured above for $17.99 a bag.  Not bad.  Was in the walmart saturday and they were $7.00 for the 40 pound bag.

Nice score I don't use enough pllets to buy any more for a long time

I just picked up a bag at Wally World too, what do you all think of these? I've been using Camp Chef but thought I'd try these.

i got a bag with my new cooker the other day and am very satisfied.prob gonna get more esp if they are on sale lol

I'm new to pellet smoking, so what is the best brand of pellets? I have the new big Louisiana from Costco and really like it.

and really like it.
then that's the best for you right now  lol. try some others and eventually you narrow what it best and maybe different types for different meats

i have only used this brand so i still have to exploring to see what i like best
