Hello,

Recently I bought a gas smoker, and I really enjoyed using it. The last time i used it, a big and yellow gas flames appeard (instead of a blue), which created a thick layer of soot on the meat and a very bad smell. I tried to lower the heat to a minimum but the flames didnt not stop or turned blue in any way.

Pls help me, otherwise, I can't continue enjoying the smoker.... Thank you in advance

Check for Spiders in the tube leading to the burner. Real common problem...JJ

yep something is blocking you air for the burner.

Definitely not burning clean, get out your manual and clean per their instructions, could have a clogged orifice. or the air is being restricted look for a venturi or vent of some sort that is on the burner  I am pretty confident that may be your problem, as tthe others have said Gd spiders!!

Try another tank. Also try opening the propane 1/2 turn...don't think that will help but you never know.

If all else fails bang the regulator with a block of wood when it is not attached to the smoker.

sorry for the bad pic, bottom line is check everything that runs from the tank to the burner, I almost lost my trailer due to a frkn spider making a nest in my venturi tube on the water heater, burnt up the wires but caught it in time.
