Now, as an official retiree, besides my volunteering at HeathSouth for Stoke and ABI class, and at Thumbtechs Corp, plus devoting time to my Stroke and ABI Facebook page, and also as a Supermoderator on here, I am obligated to 'be active' at the house. Not that I ever neglected anything here... well, except for the last 10-15 years that is when working 65 hrs a week, lol! So, time to clean the garage! OMG... lol.
In a long-forgotten corner was a box with 15 yrs of dust on it.. crammed in with boxes of bills and statements. I finally got to it and dragged it into the kitchen.... lo and behold, it was from when we lived at the store after dad died to help mom get the place ready to sell! In it was the contents of an old oak receipt holders for 100+ accounts receivables; the wood cabinet long gone but I'd saved the contents! In it I found lots of memorabilia, but most notably some things I've scanned into the computer!
An old receipt for product dad resold to another merchant to re-sell in his business... check out the prices, then the 20% off...!
An ingredient list from Hofmann's:
A Koch ad where dad bought his smokehouses; the one pictured on the right without the smoke tender: (look like mine? lol that's what I copied it from!)
Some misc to show the prices of the day, lol!
The exact same 6" skinning knife today!
A 1947 advertising calendar; we sent out hundreds every year, mom had to hand address, put in an envelope and stamp plus Christmas-Seal stamp:
Christmas Seals, 1948:
and the precursor to S & H green stamps, Sperry and Hutchinson Co-Operative Stamps:
It was a trip down Memory Lane! I also emailed Hofmann with a copy of the letter, too!
