I'm thinken about getting a WSM, for smaller cooks and hopefully to cold smoke on. I have a Horizon Marshall and love it, just thot i may get another toy.

Whats your opinions of the WSM?

Not sure what a Horizon is??? Pic's??
Don't own a WSM but have seen them in use, one of the best smoker's out there, never seen em used for cold smoking but fill it up with charcoal and it'll run all day almost untouched!!

The Marshall is a nice smoker. I was looking at a RD Marshall 24" before I bought my BDS. It was a tough choice, but I don't see how I could be any happier.

The WSM is a great little smoker. It is one of the few things I've bought that actually performs at or above the build up that comes with it. You won't regret it, so go for it!

here is my Horizon

What snow????, it was September.

It's COLD out there!!!

I have a several cookers ranging from two large trailered offsets (8' x 30" and 8' x 48") to a UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker)... For cooking at home, my go to smoker is usually my WSM... It will burn on a single load of charcoal and chunks for what seems like forever with so little effort that is seems like I'm cheating at times. It produces great Q! Having said that, I don't think it would be ideal for cold smoking tho...

Buzz I have a Oklahoma Joe almost identical to yours. When I get back to the states I will do the baffle plate/tuning plates mods. Any other suggestions? Oh yeah, I will also drop smokestack to grill level. Thanks!

I almost bought the WSM instead of my CCSV for my first smoker.
Everything I heard about it was good. I may be looking at one for the Spring.

In a few weeks I should be able to tell you.If things work out I am picking up a pair of used ones.I have only been around 1 time when a wsm was used but it was a cold windy day and I thought it did a good job. Will they replace my clone?I doubt it but with plans to do a couple comps next year its another weapon in the box.
