Made this little guy out of a stainless walmart stock pot and a couple stainless mixing bowls off Amazon. 20231221_161129.jpg 20231207_125251.jpg Bottom cut out just like a mini WSM 20231220_135825.jpg Used a smaller mixing bowl for a water pan/drip pan. Had to add some stainless strap to hold the top on. 20231207_125807.jpg Keeps the top nice and snug! 20231207_125708.jpg I got the top and bottom grate on Amazon as well. 20231208_111011.jpg Only takes a couple chunks of lit coal to get started. 20231208_111125.jpg I did a test run and was more than impressed at how well it performed. It will get to temp in 10 to 15 minutes and temp control is a breeze. It ran for 12 hours at 225ish before I checked to see how much coal was left. I was surprised it only burnt about half the coal, so I gave it a quick stir and closed it back up. This little thing will run pretty much as long as you want and uses very little fuel. Its all stainless except the aluminum dampers. I know its small but it will fit a whole chicken on the top and 4 or 5 thighs on the bottom. Gonna throw something on it this weekend and see what happens. 20231221_161129.jpg

Very nice build. How does it exhaust? Can’t wait to see some cooks off it. Nice work.

Very nice professional looking build. How stable is it with the bottom bowl?

Chris
It's pretty stable. The bottom of the bowls have a decent size flat spot so it sits just fine on a flat surface. I have some smokey joe legs I'm going to add to it eventually so it can be used anywhere.

I love the ingenuity of the folks on here. Thats a cool looking build!

Jim
Thank you. I spend a lot of time in the garage when the wife is mad at me so I try and cheer her up by making smokers out of her cooking accessories. For some reason, it just makes her even more angry?
