Hello Fellow smokers:

Just curious if anyone has ever used the charcoal grate that comes with the Wrangler Smoker as a tuning plate placed up against the 45 degree baffle plate attached to the pit. The grate has slits in it, I thought maybe this would help with even temperature control across the smoking chamber.

Any thoughts on this??

Ok...I know this is an old thread but I only hot my wrangler a couple months ago. Here is how I used the tray from the fire box as a tuning plate. It works great! I have done about 3-4 cooks this way and get temp within 10-15 degrees after about 45 minutes total. Have some tuning plates I made but this works much better!
