Always have pretty cheap pork here. Always see butt at 0.99 one week a month or so at a local chain. Always have a cheap butt in a freezer, and vacsealed cooked portions in another. Produce/process a lot of pork and poultry here in NC, but won’t find any significant beef operations ... and that shows in pricing.

Love those pork sales! Get them a lot down here, At least once a month we see pork butts for $0.99/#. Though best price I have seen in a while was about 3 months ago at $0.77/#.

Little bit of regional effect I'm guessing. I'm getting $1.04 for the loin and $1.14 for the butt.
Still... Pretty cheap.
