Has amyone tryed black alder or wild cherry? got a lot of it on my property,

Wild cherry is great cooking wood, I don't know about the black alder.

I would get rid of as much bark as possible, especially the loose stuff.

If the bark is loose I take it off, but it's not necessary IMHO.
