I've been sticking with Windows 7. Once companies/businesses widely adopt a new OS and I am forced to use it I generally avoid jumping to the next OS release.

I'll stick with 7 for now and see what I encounter on the job before I hope to the next one lol.
I also wouldn't have a problem using a non-Microsoft OS but haven't really felt the need to do so for personal machines, especially when I need to play Mr. IT guy for my family and friends and need something to compare their systems to lol.

I hate it too Richie. Stuck with it on my new laptop, but my old one that I take when working out of town has Windows 7 on it--never gonna change that.

I spent my career in the software business, so everyone asks me for help. I had a grown man (60+) call me, in tears, after Microsoft fooled him into updating his perfectly wonderful Windows 7 computer to Window 10. Suddenly, he couldn't even figure out how to run his main programs, or do anything that he'd learned to do without even thinking, under Windows 7.

This was about eighteen months ago, and I showed him how to click on the "revert to Windows 7" button. So, if you've upgraded, you should be able to reverse the process easily. Too late for that now, but if anyone else gets tricked into this, let me know.

I still run Windows XP on my main computer, although it is dual boot and I can also run Windows 7, when I need it. Windows XP was the best O/S Microsoft ever created. Windows 7 is also quite good, but has enough differences that I never quite feel at home with it.

As for Windows 10, the total and unnecessary change in user interface leaves me cold. What is more, I cannot name even one advantage it has, for the user, compared to Windows 7. But the thing that keeps me from using it is the fact that it sends a HUGE amount of information to Microsoft and other vendors. There is a reason Microsoft decided to give it away for many months.

Windows 7 has some important security enhancements compared to XP, and they're not updating XP anymore. Due to the lack of updates, if you do any online shopping or banking it is pretty risky to stick with XP. XP is banned on most corporate networks nowadays due to unpatched security holes.

I liked Windows 7, but I can't say I've had any real problems with Windows 10. It is frustrating that Microsoft feels the need to keep redesigning the interface though. They could have just stuck with the XP GUI, it worked well.

So far I haven't had any problems with Windows 10.
It took a little while to get used to it, but I'm OK with it now.

I started with windows 3.1 and upgraded every version through XP. I ran XP until about six months ago and jumped ship. Installed Linux Mint in our three desktop computers and wow..........Linux just works. Easy to learn and will do anything you want to do.

That will be my ultimate course of action as well. Windows 10 is a non-starter for me. I've got Linux boot DVDs that I've used for troubleshooting, and I immediately feel "at home" and can do pretty much anything, without thinking.

I have Win 10 on both my laptop and desktop. Wife's laptop is still 8.1 as she doesn't adapt too well and it's just her using it. 10 is rock steady on both machines, both are on automatic update, and has been compatible with all the software I have. I've got no beef with Win 10

The only problem we have with Windows is the PITA Jerks who keep calling here to tell me they want to fix the Viruses on my Windows. Indian Accents, and I can hear a bunch of them in the background all doing the same thing. I just tell them I have a Mac, and I don't have Windows. They keep calling. I even told them I don't have a computer. They still keep calling. I'm not dumb enough to give them info they're looking for.

Whatever happened to the "Do Not Call" list I signed up for years ago. It worked Great for a few years.
Seems this year it got 10 times as bad with Crap calls!!!

I've been running Windows since 2.1 (Windows 286) and have run every version except 8. You can find horror stories with every version that was released. I had a Dell that came with XP that I upgraded to Win7. At about 10 years old it started becoming very slow so I did the free upgrade to Win10 and it gave it new life. Windows 10 manages resources much better than 7 did. Yes, the interface is different, but once I got used to it I find it much better. I manage 100's of machines at work and we have fewer problems with 10 than with 7.

Microsoft was just trying to complete with IOX on the Macs.. a more graphical interface. My motto is : if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!!! I have it at work and I find it confusing. I don’t need flashing tiles and pretty pictures . Just my programs!!
I bought my with a new laptop for xmas and it has windows 10 on it, has been using xp for 8 years and I know she is going to hate 10. But try to buy something new without it.. Dell had some refurbished machines with 7 but I wanted new.. ho ho ho I hope...

Ah yes, our government at work. They pass a law that says you must use a hands-free device when calling in your car. Result? Just as many people holding their phones and talking. They pass a law that makes it illegal to call a home unless your company has had prior business dealings with the homeowner. Result? More cold calls than ever, and most of them are hard-core scams.

Does anyone enforce either law? Nope.

I get 3-5 of these calls a day. I sometimes tell them they have reached the NSA, and they should expect a full-scale raid within five minutes. Other times I tell them that we have their home address and agents are on their way to raid the place.

What are they going to do to me, call the cops?
