Master Forge has the element exposed in the bottom. During smoking have to add wood and if wood gets on the element will it shorten the life or does it matter? Thanks.

Doc, morning.... Wood should not hurt the element... It may create a hot spot on it and I have no idea what effect that will have.... Dave
