I just finished my 2nd whole chicken. The first one was a disaster, I tried to redeem myself this week. I mostly followed Jeff's recipe, except I put cut up onion and green apples in the cavity. It was super tender and juicy. I finished it off in the oven to get to 170 and crisp the skin. I dont like finishing in the oven. Not too bad for my 2nd whole chicken. Got spare ribs rubbed down and ready for tomorrow. I love long holiday weekends.
