Dug out the old camp coffee pot to make some river coffee to have my own cold coffee in the morning.

Man, just had a thought. There was a garage sale down the road that had things backed up for a bit. Could have set up a coffee stand at the end of my drive and made some money!

So what exactly is this river coffee you've posted here (and that camp thread, IIRC)? heating up the beans/grounds in water? Though you said cold coffee, so..hmm.. If not filtered or anything, just decanted, that sounds about the same as Turkish coffee.

i usually bring my french press when I travel, but im also a big fan of pourovers.

Basically you pour coffe grounds on hot water and bring to a rolling boil then after a few mins take it off the heat and pour some cold water down the spout and around the top of the water to settle the grounds.

I let it cool then pop it in the fridge.
