Looking at buying a welding or wedding tent (or something) I can use for painting. So a simple camping tent won't work, doesn't need a floor, but does need 4 sides, and preferably rollup or removable sides - so I can pull a trailer or a yard cart type smoker through. Doesn't have to be super heavy duty, it's not going to stay up full time, I'll just put it up when I need to do some painting, but needs to be solidly enough built and anchorable to be able to stay up for up to a week at a time, I would guess.
Any of you guys done this before? I'm looking to get into doing some painting to increase the marketability of my smoker builds, and want to do a good job. Not looking to do a $10,000 show car paintjob, but I would like to make things look nice and be able to do some custom paint colors and such.
I've looked on Ebay a little in the past, but never seriously gotten into researching them - what kinds of things do I need to look for? Like... metal eyelets to tie/stake down, certain types of uprights (i.e., steel vs alum, thicknesses or that sort of thing?), double-stitched seams or whatever? Thickness of the canvas or type of material? I am literally just spitballing possible variables, I truly know nothing about this. Not even enough to know the important features I need to look for or pay attention to. Hoping someone here can help me find something large enough and durable enough to pull in a 500 gallon trailer pit for paint, ideally as inexpensively as I can.
Oh, and something I can set up and tear down by myself. I can't count on ever really having another set of hands to help.
You guys got any advice on what to look for or where to look? I'd say my budget is... ideally, like $200-300? I'm hoping I can get what I need for that, but I don't really have any idea. Am I going to have to stretch it to $500+?
Might be able to use this at some point for popup cooking events, too. Just thought of that...
