It started out great. Got to sleep in. The wife took care of the girls while I got caught up on some rest. Then to my suprise the Packers were actually on TV and playing the dreaded vickie's. It is a rare treat for me cuz i am in california. I usually get stuck w/ the whiners and raiders. great games. (sarcasm)It was great cuz the girls just learned to say "go packers". good timing. The pack beat up on the vikings. bad enough the network switched to a compatitive game. won a 12 pack. smoked 3 racks of ribs. turned out great. The weather was perfect, 70deg not a cloud in the sky w/ a slight breeze. My parents come over for ribs and to play w/ their grandkids. Could end the day perfect except i have to work late this evening on the side job but I had to tell someone about my great day. time to stop playing and to start getting paid.

Yeah isn't lfe grand! The packer kicked butt - but poor Bret got his bell rung. I didn't get to see the game I was at a basketball game - GO UConn!

Pne:

Nice post. Sure nice to see someone have a good old fashioned 'great day' with their family. I spent most of my day, cooking and sharing with family and neighbors. Brined up a big old chicken(thanks to Debi's baby sitting), fixed sides and then my wife came up with this incredible Apple dessert she built and baked in a cast iron skillet. Neighbors almost ate skillet and all.

Since tomorrow is a special day, I get it off. Won't be able to sleep in though, because I am putting on a Pork Butt, first thing in the morning.

Hell, I had a great weekend!

I spent Saturday up in Hershey, PA for a mini-catering gig... everyone loved the pulled pork, slaw and custom sauces. Sunday, I spent with family and friends, Q'ed up some fine spare ribs and some beef short ribs, and of course, a fatty.

Life is good...

I spent the day smoking a rack of spares, two fattys ( JD sage), a pack of Italian sausage links (pack of 5, the raw kind), and a batch of wicked beans. Then we went to my parents house (while the ribs rested) to take them a Christmas pic of Hunter with Santa we had taken sat. Came home and ate. Those were some good ribs and beans. We ate all the Italian sausages after they came out of the smoker.
I did them just like a fatty. Three hours total, 1½, flip, another 1½. As I pulled all the sausage out of the smoker, I foiled the ribs and put in the beans. Unwrapped the ribs after 1 3/4 hours. Pulled out ribs and beans after the beans had three hours in the smoker. Sorry, no qview, as the batteries in the camera are dead.
