Hi all!
Been looking for a new smoker.
After all my research and my sub $500 budget, here are my final two.
I would like your opinion to help finalize my purchase.

Im gonna get an Oklahoma Joe.
Do I get the Highland or the Longhorn?

Highland
$288 at Walmart

Longhorn
$386 at Lowes.
(12 mths intrest free includes 10% off for new cc acct)

So is the bigger size worth the extra $98?

Im just a weekend bbq guy.

Thanks for your opinion and help!

I would advise you to check out the Rec Tec mini.  I own the full size Rec Tec which is a bit beyond your budget, but the mini fits well within your budget and you'll never be sorry for buying a Rec Tec.

The highland will handle your backyard bbq with no problem.

I purchased one a couple of weeks a go, fit a finish very good.

If you are new to stick burners do a little research, and follow the directions on seasoning your new cooker.

Have fun.

I don't know what your specific needs are...who and how many you cook for, etc...but in the past, lots of folks around here have said "I wish I had the bigger one".  If it were me, and the larger unit was within my budget, that's what I'd get.

Just my 2 cents...

i purchased a longhorn at lowes about 2 years ago, smoker is very good. neighbor came over and wanted it more than i did. so i sold it to him. but that is a pretty good smoker. i would go with that one before that one at walmart. just my 2 cent worth.
