Ok, I confess, I owe this apology to all those I jokenly tormented about not smokin in the cold and snow. We had this snow storm come through Ohio and now I can't get to my wood. I have about a half cord of wild cherry and maple tarped over in my back yard somewhere. I know the general vicinity but crap after looking at that area, I'm wondering if I just shouldn't put off smokin for awhile. We are expecting another eight inches tomorrow night.
I read over what I wrote here and somethin hit me; I am a member of the honorary OTBS. This honor not only takes into consideration my ability to produce awesome looking/tastin smoked foods but also my devotion to the art of smokin.
I'm goin and gettin my pick and shovel and find my wood.
To those I joked with about not smokin in the cold and snow, I'll q/view how them ribs turn out tomorrow evening and the pulled pork the next evening and the bottom round the next.

Haha...yeah that storn hit hard...and fast! Im in the same boat for wood...except mine also serves a (slightly) more important purpose...HEATING! I should have filled the wood racks earlier in the week and didnt. Then worked late on Friday bye the time i got home i was not braving the elemets to fill the racks. And now...my wood pile is burried both by the storm and from plowing myself out. I just saw the watch posted for tomorrow thru wed. I better go did out my wood before it hits and gets worse tonight i guess!

How about we get some QView of the expedition for wood?!!? Some of us folks that dont get snow love that kinda stuff! lol

I need a metal detector!!! Sometime while I was out there digging around, my keys fell outa my coat pocket. That's the only place I think they can be. This is not good. 8-/

When you get out your metal detector, bring along your gps unit. Then you can plot in the coordinates of the wood pile. You'll be all set the next time the snow falls heavily.
