Headed to Memphis tomrow to do the Diners, dives & drivins thing but going in cold.  Any sugestions on what local, repeat local, spots to hit?  Want the real flavor of Memphis, not the tourist stops.

Just 4 couples out for a weekend so your help would help!

We went to "The Commissary", I believe it is in Germantown... I liked it a lot better than the Big name rib places everybody raves about...

It might be a little late judging from when you posted but I recommend getting some ribs at Rendezvous. They are the best I've ever had outside of the ones that I make

For me as I stated.. I wasn't impressed with their ribs... But as we all know... everybody has their own taste

wow...that's quite a drive based on your profile--don't know about memphis, but would also recommend stopping at all the mom and pop shops in between and reporting back to us!

I know it ain't q but dyers on beale st. You can get a great burger fryed in grease from ww2. Go to stateofQ.com it has all 80 bbq joint listed ranked and maps to get their . I like rendezvous myself never had a bad meal from their. But every restraunt has a off day once and a while. Another 1 that's popular.is interstate barbq.good luck and have a safe trip.

Insert a full belly here!  Real good time, but as just one vote in 8 I'd have hit more rib joints.  Our motel was right across the street from the Memphis Bar B Que Co and we did'nt even look in the door and last night she was on TV on Pit Masters.  Next time - right?
