Can anyone tell me what kind of wood this might be. I used to work at a place that smoked trail bologna and I got these pieces from there.

I'm running low on wood and it's hard to find any thing around here to buy.

One note, it does not have any cedar smell.
If anyone can tell me where I can purchase split smoking wood in east-central Ohio, it would be greatly appreciated. I can use up to 16inches long.

Thanx,
Ray

It looks like cherry to me. Does it have a sweet smell? I am in Lexington OH. I usually get wood from friends or myself. Haven't bought any yet.

Looks like it is cherry to me also.
Have a bunch of cherry in my backyard seasoning now and based on the pics of your bark more than anything I would guess cherry.
You could burn a chunk and see if you can tell.
