What To Do with Leftover Brisket ?   "What !!!"

Actually there is no such thing as leftover Brisket "At least at our house"

But all Joking aside here is what I do every time I smoke a brisket or even a pork butt.

Before it's all gone I slice off a hunk and chop up a few slices, then I Vacuum seal them for later on.

Today I was rummaging through the freezer and saw a package of chopped brisket, thawed and warmed it up for a great lunch.

I learned this the hard way years ago. I would be ready to put some back after everyone had eaten and there wasn't any so I started doing it first.

Just a quick tip

Exactly,  Not as bad since the kids are grown and the grand kids are older used to be like a pack of Wolves at a fresh kill,  Still happens on occasion

Gary sounds like Easter at my house. With all the food I was able to save 5 slices, that was made into a Shepard's Pie a few days later.

Thanks for sharing the tip

We can't live without a vac seal machine can we!

My freezer is full of stuff that's been vac packed.

When I first got my Vac sealer, I figured I'd use it every once in a while Not a week goes by that it's not used at least a 2 or 3 times

My first Vac Sealer was a "Hand-me-up". My Son got a new fancy one & gave me his old one.

I still have it as an Emergency Backup!

Now that it's just Me & Mrs Bear here, I don't have to worry about most leftovers.

She won't even eat leftover Prime Rib---She says it tastes like Roast Beef!!!

Well-----It Is!!!

The Mrs. and I have been talking about getting one for years, looks like we should pull the trigger already. Any recommendations? Oh, and brisket leftovers are sliced for the next day then chopped for sammiches and tacos.

More often than not, I'm cooking for only 2 at my house, so when I smoke brisket and/or butts, there's almost always plenty leftover for vac-sealing and freezing...so there is almost always some PP and sliced or chopped brisket in my freezer.

We vacuum seal our leftover brisket in meal sized portions. Missus BD will make the best soup in the world with it.  It's also great in a pot of beans.  Or toss it on a big salad for our dinner. We keep smoked brisket and chicken in our freezer most of the time. ...Handy for quick meals. b

My favorite thing to do with leftover brisket or any beef/steak is to chop it up pretty fine, maybe even pulse it in the food processor to save some chopping and make some philly cheese steaks out of it. This works great for leftover steak which in my opinion is never as good reheated.
