I have a maverick 733 and I'm not crazy about it.. the instructions suck and it hard to set up.. what do you use . Thermo works smoke.. I like the new Smoke eye
You can put in 6 probes..

I still use my Maverick 732, but I won't buy another when this one dies.  The probes suck, even the aftermarket ones.

That Smoke Eye looks impressive.  Could end up on my Christmas wish list.

I picked up a cheap ThermoPro instant read thermometer recently.  Definitely a five second read (or less).  Impressive for $8.  Five year replacement warranty. With enough experience my timing instincts are kind of moving beyond needed to know exact temps, but I do like to monitor my chamber temp.

I might be moving beyond that too though.  With the Guru temp controller and a new River Country lid thermometer, I can get my fat butt up and take a quick look.  They always exactly match each other.

i use a digital thermometer i got from the local grocery chain a presidents choice one its  very accurate and cheap,  mostly for cook chamber temps  not so much the meat. also  a  weber  thermo pen mostly to check tenderness on like beefribs etc

I like the ThermoPro TP20 over the Maverick 733 I had.  The TP20 is so much easier to use and just auto syncs.  My only knock on it is that sometimes the numbers can display a little wonky.  This may just be mine because I haven't heard anyone else with the same behavior.  It's no biggy though for me because the device works so well and is simple.

Mine is a Maverick 732. The instructions are a PIA. The only functions I use are chamber temp and the meat probe. I don't use any of the settings for different meats--i just want to know what the IT is, plain and sìmple. When it dies I won't be buying another multi function Mav.

For an instant read therm I spent $12 and bought an 8 sec Weber. Works great.
