I went ahead and purchased it. Pretty thick steel. First time buying a smoker so I'm not sure if it's 1/4in or not, but the doors and everything felt pretty sold. Judging by some post I've read about being able to tell if it's a OKJ made in Oklahoma vs China vs Mexico, I'd say this one was probably made in Mexico. Everything is welded it seems, but the welds on the door handles are spot welds, not welded from the top of the handle all the way to the bottom. Not bad though I think for $250. I'd still like to know what model this is if anybody knows. The OKJ emblem is a mirror (not yellow/gold) and unreadable. : /

At that price, I think you done good. Even a brand new POS offset could have cost that much...and that rig looks more well made than many of the box store-quality offsets. Congrats on the find! I'm definitely no OJ expert, but I'm not familiar with that one - don't think I've seen an OJ model with a built-in cabinet/cart. If you're a welder, or know a welder, you could get a metal thickness gauge and easily check the thickness of the steel - but it looks pretty well built in those pics.

I'm with Keith - show us some more pics...maybe someone here has experience with the same model.

Thanks for the responses. I'll try to pick up a gauge reader to check the gauge size. I definitely need to get the ash pan from the firebox replaced as it's started to rust through. For whatever reason it's not as thick metal as the rest of the smoker. Maybe I can find a local welder who can make it but with thicker steel, or maybe just close it up and I just rake out the ashes from the side where I load in wood. The dimensions of the cooking chamber seem to be the same size as the current OKJ Longhorn, at 40in x 19in. The firebox interior is 20in x 19in. Pics attached.

Looks pretty cool from here!
I'm beginning to think I got duped into believing this was an OKJ (LOL)- Not that I really care, the metal is thick and sturdy. Just need to figure out a way to seal the firebox at the bottom as the ash pan is rotting out. I measured the opening and it's 8in across, going to try to put 9in firebricks across it to cover it up and preserve the ash pan as long as possible. Should I glue the firebricks to the bottom, and if so, with what type of glue? I'll post some pics after I get her cleaned up. : )

You are going to find it is probably 3/16 or a little less. The problem those had was the ash pan allowed air to get sucked in whether you wanted it or not. I cannot remember what it was called (Deluxe?) but believe it was made somewhere around 2004-2006 . Filling the ash pan with firebrick or sand might cure it if you have a problem, or cook with the FB door open. Either way it has good bones and will restore nicely.

Mine has a tag that says Oklahoma Joe right on it, and another with the serial# Mine also has no ashpan. There's enough room below the fire grate for ash to collect without impeding airflow.

I figured out what model it is: Super Longhorn Deluxe Smoker
Unfortunately for me this one has the ash pan and outside of my ash pan rusting, seems it leaks pretty good around it according to numerous posts. Firebricks isn't going to prevent the air leaks at the bottom I don't think. Not really sure what to do about it. : /

It looks like a decent smoker, especially for that price. If it were me I would have it sandblasted and repaint it with high temp paint. Then weld in a plate to fill in the void where the ash pan goes.

You will still be way under the price of a new smoker of that quality.
