At least you had the tools to make quick work of it

When I bought the tractor a few years ago the last thing I thought I'd ever use it for was plowing snow. as far as making quick work of it, yes the tractor was a huge help but mostly if was out of fear of freezing to death. Been many, many years since I've experienced cold like this.

And what is that?.....Sunshine!

YES!! Finally. Literally we have not seen sunshine for a week nor have we seen temps above freezing for the last 4 or 5 days.

Jeez, sounds like a bunch of us are getting hammered that aren't used to it. I just checked our weather. It's currently 9 degrees and it looks like we have another round of this mess coming through starting tomorrow.

Man, I hope all of you stay safe and get through this unscathed. I saw this coming and made sure we were ready and lacked for nothing. We could last a full week and not run out of stuff and even then it'd just be fresh veggies. My work has been shut down since early morning Thursday and nothing at all on the schedule thus far for the entire week. Might just have to make up a bunch more sausage. Got one batch done yesterday and have meat to do several more if I want to. Weird...we thought 2020 was a weird year. Thus far 2021 is giving last year a run for it's money on being a weird year.

We had three solid days of ice then the snow hit yesterday. Got 7" of snow at our house on top of a half inch of solid ice on the roads. Temp this morning was 4 degrees with a 30 mile an hour wind. That's just wrong for this part of the country!! At least we have the only clear driveway in the community....not that it does us any good. We can't get in or our of the community and the only road into town is shut down because of the ice on all the hills, curves, and bridges.

Wind chill was about -20 when I was out doing this. Made quick work of it, that's for sure!! Almost 7000 square feet of driveway. This pile is over 7' tall and there's another one just like it at the end of the driveway. I'm not going back outside today :emoji_astonished:

Robert
I really feel for all of you down south... you're not used to weather like that and not really equipped to deal with it. With us up north we are... not that we like it much!

On a lighter side... Robert, I hope your tractor had a bourbon bottle holder on it to help ya warm up! That's a pretty cool snow mower mounted under your tractor... careful as to not scalp it! :emoji_blush:

Wow Jake, and that's on top of ice? Stay safe, hope your heat stays working. At least you got that fireplace as a backup.

Wow!!
I know how much this crap is a PITA up here.
I can't imagine how bad it is for down there.
We got 59 inches total so far, but it's been snowing pretty hard here, since before I got up.
1" at 6 AM
3" at 11 AM.
They're calling for up to 8".
But when we got that 31", they were only calling for 18".

Stay warm Guys!!

BTW Robert: Nice Kubota---Looks like Bear Jr's.
