Got these from my brother, he doesn't know what they are purple like a egg plant and pretty warm. Any ideas??

Those look like the ornamental Thai peppers that my neighbor grew last year in her landscaping. They were edible but quite hot as I recall.
Do you know what other colors they may turn? I have some NuMex Twilights that look similar about halfway through ripening. Have seen others that look about the same too.
