what is majoram?

i see here on this forum, you guys use marjoram, what is this stuff? and what kind of taste does it add to the sausage?

Marjoram is an herb in the mint family.Square stems, opposing leaves. It tastes very much like oregano, but the flavor is milder and more delicate. The flavor profile changes a bit from one species to another, somerimes favoring minty, citrusy, and even a little piney.

if the taste is a little piney, how does that help the taste in sausage?

Again, it depends on the species, and your taste prefrence. Run of the mill, grocery store marjoram will most likely just taste like mild oregano to you. If you grow your own, you can choose a variety you prefer.
Buy a little bottle and taste it, see if you like it.
