I know everyone has certain foods that they refuse to eat. What is on your list?

Here is My List...
  • Mountain Oysters, Turkey Fries, etc.
  • Brains
  • Tongue
  • Menudo (Tripe)
  • Head Cheese
  • Souse
  • Sushi
  • Oxtail Soup
  • Okra
  • Anchovies
  • Pickled Herring
  • Snakes
  • Any Type Insect

man paul, menudo and oxtails are some of my favorite things to eat. if done right i do like tongue and i have eaten chili/lime crickets.

bugs, reptiles, amphibians and weird body parts (liver is my limit, although i might try kidney and/or tongue next hunting season).

green peppers in any form (yeah, i know - practically un-american!)

raw celery (although i love to dice it very fine and add it to a mire-poix (sp) for a soup or other dish. the smell while sauteeing with carrots, onions and sometimes a little garlic is amazing).

i finally tried anchovies this last summer on some pizza, and they are fine when not over-done, meaning that it seems to be best when chopped into squares and spread-out on top of the cheese, where tehy bake and melt right into pockets of savory, salty goodness. they are also pretty good out of the can, but don't ask me to eat more than two or three at a time.

i intend to try sushi (sashimi) someday, but living in montana, i think i will wait until i am on one of the coasts, preferably the west coast.

Quiche
Well done steak
brussel sprouts
octopus (I hate the texture)
black licorice (or anything with that flavor)
pickled pigs feet
chitlins
blood pudding
blood sausage
black olives
pork rinds (just can't eat fried pig skin)
miracle whip
capers

Most of these I have tried at one time and hopefully never will again.

Ill try most things at least once, so i dont really have a list, best to keep an open mind towards different cuisines, ingredients, and different cultures imho.

I am willing to try anything. I have tried and hate the following:

Turnups ( maybe spelled turnips?)
Raw onion ( love em cooked)
Black Licorice

Thats about all I can think of.

I think I would or already have tried most of the weird stuff from earlier posts...

Just watch Andrew Zimmern and you can build a list for me.

Black Licorice, brains and mountain oysters seem to be common no nos on the thread.
I could add raw blood, raw organ meats, dog, cat and insects.
Also any ethnic foods from Minnesota

Oh,man.....

Mayonnaise on a sandwich or by itself
Menudo (tripe)
Beets, pickled or otherwise
Chitlin's
Scrapple
Limberger cheese

I don't believe there is anything I would not eat LOL. Absolutely love all the items some of you said you wouldn't, with the exception of Rosie. LOL
That one would probably make me do the Technicolor Yawn

.

Lamb. I want to like it. It looks delicious. I have tried it numerous times, cooked many different ways and the flavor just isn't to my liking.

Very few things i don't like.
Cooked spinach
scrapple
gafiltafish (sp)
green peas
kim chi

Have eaten things overseas most would never think of .
And really enjoyed most of it.
