I just picked up a Western Royal fridge for my first smoker build. Picked it up from a guy that was going to either turn it into a gun case or a smoker. He already started to tear it down. The compressor and condenser coils were already pulled out. Going to pull the inner shell out today. I suspect the insulation is cardboard. Hope to pull that out today and pick up some roxul insulation soon. Plan to use a electric element and a pid controller that I already built. For smoke I plan on using amnps.

I got a bunch of work done today. The inside liner was pulled out as was the cardboard insulation. Found out the bottom of the fridge, under the inside liner was cardboard. Pulled that out also. Will replace that with steel plate. Also found the trim pieces around the door and also around the inside liner were also plastic. Will get all those replaced in steel plate also.

I will need to seal up some holes in the inside liner. Any ideas on how I should go about that?

Thanks

Stainless steel bolts and nuts ......also had some bigger holes that my buddy just welded some steel scrap pieces on the back sides to cover holes. After 8 smokes in a couple months, since finishing the build, can't even see any of that now.
