i don't like being outside to maintain a fire during winter in Utah. However I will be using the Santa Maria, kettles, and UDS as I don't have to be outside all that much with those. Although the flavor will not be as good. I can still smoke. But there is nothing like a good old fashioned stick burner.

Well at least you will still be able to smoke something!
It's just now getting into our smoking season down here.

Hey ammature, where you at in Utah? My Mother grew up in Logan and we'd vacation every other year there growing up.

What's your elevation?
4551 feet....it's getting really cold.....now starts the 5 months of old man winter...it doesn't stop me from getting my smoke on during the winter, I just do it a different way and let it go. The units I am leaving out don't require me to be out too long.

I am in Provo.....Logon is cool. I stop there on my way to Bear lake. Also attend a few sporting events at Utah State when BYU plays them. Not a good season this year! :(

C'mon Al I was there in summer for a week this year....I would have smoked outside. But let me add this....It felt really good when it did start to rain. And those magnolia trees sure are pretty....can those be used to smoke? :)

These days I have a house with a covered patio, so the smoker can live under the roof. Much less UV exposure and usually dry although on rare occasions it gets mist, or dusty snow. The paint is already damaged by weather and heat but I'm not going to worry about that.

For its first few years, the smoker was parked along a garage wall, only partly covered by the roof and exposed to direct morning sun. When that sun would warm it up, it started to release smoke aroma to tease me as if it were carrying on with smoking, without me.

Yes it is.They used to have a park/zoo with baboons, monkeys(that would Masturbate) a tiger etc.And it was free!
I had an uncle that lived at Bear lake.We would shoot up int Idaho and fish the Snake, over to Wyoming to Jackson and Yellowstone. .Oh,my brother and I were skateboarding down the street and cops pulled up be hind us.It was illegal (per them).... ~ 1978.So we had to walk about a mile to the university to skateboard. Aaaah the good ole' days.
