I think I am going to become a beta tester when this becomes available. Weber has released a couple of videos that are interesting.

I saw it a few months ago . Reminded me that I used to do whole turkeys with No therm inserted , no lid gauge . Start with a number of coals each side , and add a number on the hour . Never checked temp for doneness . Always came out good .
Just not sure a kettle needs to be that fancy , but it is interesting .

I totally agree Rich. Same way with my first WSM. But I have always been a sucker for new gadgets especially for a kettle and this might give me a reason to get that new Royal Blue Mastertouch that I have been wanting for a couple of years. Now is that crazy or what?

The Master touch is a nice cooker . I have the black display model I got last year at Lowes .
Still haven't used it , but I'll just let it sit in the garage .

I've been using the Smokey Joe I got at Goodwill for grilling hot dogs and sausages . Works great .

I guess if a kettle was the only thing you would ever own then I guess it might be worth tricking it out but 99% percent of all of us own more than just that.Just my opinion though.

I've got a Spider Venom attached to my Weber kettle. It works quite well, but truthfully, so does a charcoal snake on the interior periphery. Regardless, I still like it quite a bit, very minimal temp swings and high coolness factor.

Yeah, I've been eyeing that Spider Venom since it came out a couple of years ago. Wouldn't you know the Weber version would be a hundred bucks more. I initially though I would use it on the Performer but it has the charcoal starter that I use a lot and would be bad air leak. So, if I do it, it means a new kettle.

The Spider mounts really well to the kettle, it's well designed. Another nice toy!
