So I've been waiting for a Weber kettle to pop up on Craigslist/FB Marketplace for a few weeks and finally found an 18 very very lightly used for $20. When I went to pick it up, the guy gave me a bag of B&B chunk, looked at me, and said, "I just cant do the charcoal."

Anywho, my lady loves wings and I figured we'd give the newest member of the team it's first shot in the starting lineup.

I cooked up the wings with a chunk of apple over the Vortex and she made up a Hot Garlic Parm and classic Buffalo. I love this thing already!

Anyone else run one of these units? Trying to figure out what to do next on it!

I've got two little Smokey Joe's, plus an 18 and a 22.
These guys are the kings of burgers, chicken pieces, steaks and steaks and steaks and steaks..

Looks mighty good from here. Wings are definitely a staple. I'd go a nice steak for my next cook.....

Looks great. I've been toying with the idea of getting one of these. Just gotta see how much legwork is necessary during the cook. I'm currently in an MES 40 set it and forget it.

Heck of a deal - the charcoal alone is worth $20, and that kettle will give you years of good food. Nice looking wings. Now I'm hungry.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! This baby is gonna get a lot of use for a long time.

I honestly wanted/would've preferred a 22 for the capacity, but upon further thinking, it is just me and the wife at home. Plus when we have people over it's always a lot of friends and family, so I'd still be using the BellFab and not the kettle, whether that had been a 22 or an 18.

All in all, I couldn't be happier. I think steaks are on the menu to celebrate our incoming turkey season this Saturday!
