New to the forum hope this is in the correct place.

I am in the market for an offset smoker. I was eying the Brazos DLX and I am having a hard time finding it locally. I've seen them as little as $1,700.00 or less, some are listed higher. Many sites list them as unavailable, or shipping puts them well over $2,000.00.

$2,000.00 is kind of my threshold I'd go higher but I'm not looking to go too much higher. My question is, is there anywhere "local" to Charlotte NC (1-2hours) that has smokers I can look at and in my price range. I want 1/4 thick steel as that seems to be a minimum thickness, and the Brazos hit both my marks. I've looked for used a little bit but I'd prefer new. Any ideas or experiences. I am willing to order online but I'd still like to be close to my budget including shipping. I thought about the OC G2 but I've read pluses and minuses about the insulated box for a backyard smoker. Open to different offest models in my price range.

I am pretty sure that Bell Fabricators is in that area or I might be mistaken. They do custom pits and I know many people happy with him.

Old Country makes some nice pits, they have the G2 and G3 I think now and can be bought at some Academy Sporting Good stores.

I am sure you are already doing this but checking CL and FB Market for anyone selling. I've looked awhile back and it was pretty rare to find one but I did get a few hits I was just too slow to pull the trigger and make up my mind. Good luck!!!

Scratch bell fab they are in Oklahoma, my apologies.

Friend of mine told me of a guy that sells firewood and always has smokers for sale in his front yard. Guy is in Concord I'm going to call him. Not sure if he is flipping them or making them. But I think mostly what he deals with are trailer offest smokers not backyard. I am kind of leary of DIY smokers, because I have no reference of how they will perform. I guess I could always resell it but I want to learn on something that is proven since I have no experience.

Work horse and Blue smoke look nice but are out of my range.

I found a used Lang Locally but it is a 48 and I'm wondering if it is too big. I'll look into the 36" it would be a 5 hour drive.

Thanks! this may be the ticket. I was looking in Rock Hill but hadn't checked that far south. I had stopped at another Academy in Hickory they said they couldn't check other stores. Nothing in the Charlotte area that I had found.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you end up with.

Lang and Old Country great pits!!
Lang is supposed to be picked up by someone else, sad I didn't even get a chance to look at it. But it was larger than I was thinking and at the top of my budget. Road trip to Academy in "Cola" this Sunday is in the cards right now.
