It's arriving tomorrow sometime.  I took off work for the day to just be here when it gets here and hopefully start playing with it.  I had heard some good things about Traegers previously and impulse bought one last week and now reading the reviews (here and elsewhere) I'm a little worried, but I hope it works out just fine for me!

With a job where I travel a lot and a 1 yr old, I don't have much spare time but I love BBQ so I'm hoping the Traeger is 'good enough' for a while.  I've read it doesn't smoke "a lot" but I'm hoping that's it's serviceable enough.

I've got some ribs and chicken in the fridge, I'm hoping the Treager gets here earlier in the day so I can crank it up and have those for dinner.  I know there's some assembly but other than that I hope it's good to go.

Anyways - I know there's other threads on this subject... but I'm hoping some of you fine ladies and gentlemen could share me yours dos and donts with Traegers (and pellet grills in general), favorite rubs/sauces, recipes, etc.

Thanks everyone!!

Morning, and welcome to the forum......  All grills have a learning curve to create great food..... Recipes are abundant on this forum for you to look through...  Relax and enjoy the long smokey ride.....   Dave

Unless the Texas is different because its bigger I get plenty of smoke from my Lil Tex Elite. How'd you make out jOUhn?

I have two lil" texas elite traeger grills.  They are great.  Would never use anything else since I finally got y first one.  Good luck with yours.  I know you will love it!!

Hope you enjoy your new toy.  I also endorse getting 1 of Todd's Smoking tools for adding more smoke to things.  They will also let you Smoke Cheese which can become a bit of an addiction.
