I mentioned several months ago on another thread that this was coming. So here’s my vintage Hobart 311. Got it about 50% disassembled. Successfully tested the motor, it runs, but very full of grease. The old cloth insulation on the leads to the power cord is badly cracked. I plan on taking the motor to a motor shop, so I don’t ruin it.

I got a 311 this summer. A bar was throwing it away!!! It quit working, and I figured I could get it going. Motor runs fine, but the fiber gear has worn out. Found a place that can make a new gear, but the set up cost is over $1,000. Is there any interest in making several gears, as it would reduce the cost a lot per gear if over 5 were made. This thing is just too cool to just junk!!!!
