Decided to throw some deer tenderloin steaks on the smoker and do a type of burnt ends with em. Turned out great. Threw on some other goodies and now gonna watch some football.

Interesting and looks good. When you say tenderloin are you talking about the inner tenders inside the hind quarters or are you talking about backstraps up by the spine?
I have a hard time doing certain things to certain cuts of meat, especially if I don't have an abundance of it or it is supper expensive

These were the inner tenderloins, I still have a few of these cuts and all my deer meat comes from ones I've harvested. I should draw again this next hunting season, so I'll likely have more.

I don't know if I could bring myself to do it, haha. we just enjoy them too much simple seasoning, cooked hot and fast, rest for a few minutes, slice thin and devour. Our two daughters are steak lovers when I'm making them so they just don't last long.

Yep, that's how I do it with elk for sure. Sometimes I get tired of the same ole same with deer, so I have to change it up once in awhile.
