my uds is already showing small surface rust from where water was splashed on it, i used high heat spray paint from walmart and did two coats? damn spray paint sucks, so i just bought a can of rustolium high heat paint and will give it one more coat. anyone else have rust problem? i keep it in garage too.

Can't say as I've had that problem but then I put 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint on mine. (I got a little carried away, but it was fun.

You can repaint it but if you continue to have the problem, I'd brush the rust off before the next time you cook and when it is good and hot, spray it with a little Pam or wipe some Crisco on it. It may take a few cooks but it will darken and keep it from rusting. That's what I did on the bottom of my SnP firebox.
