am planning to smoke a spachcocked turkey (15 lbs) on the KJ. I think 325degrees, any thoughts about timing. I guessing 15min/lb. how close am I? Any thoughts appreciated.
Been ages since I've done one so I googled it.Nobody's real clear on Min/Lb. General consensus seems to be start at 425* and drop temp after an 1/2Hr to ~350*. Total cook time 1 1/2Hrs is what I'm seeing at those temps.Seems awfully fast to me but I looked at a few sources....
I did a 21 # turkey in a little over 3 hours at 270-280, but I separated the thighs from the breast & spatchcocked the breast. So if you followed that method your probably looking at Some where over 2 hours.
