Anyone have a good way to put a drain valve into a turkey fryer pot that didn't originally come with one?

I like the pot I use for this fryer because it's heavier gauge than the usual crappy ones that come with the fryer kits. I don't use it enough to justify buying a new pot with a drain, but at the same time every time I have to drain the oil, I curse and say I'm buying a pot with a valve...

I'm trying to figure out how to get a good seal for the valve on the curved surface of the pot.

Short of having it welded in, or flattening the surface where you want it. I can't think of anyway to do It. But there are many here that are better at fabrication than I am, maybe some one will chime in.
