Folks,
Attempting my first turkey tomorrow and could be doomed! The brine I'm using is for a12.5# bird and I used 1.5 cups of kosher salt and 1 cup of sugar instead of 1 cup and half cup. Is this bird going to be to salty or sweet?

Thanks,
Will

I use up to two cups of salt before . it will be fine . just rinse it off after done brining.

You should be just fine. Like was suggested rinse it off. Dry it and rub it.

Go as is or add 1/2 Gallon more water to get the right concentration...JJ

I have tried different percentages of salt to sugar from time to time with very little change in the final taste, unless you don't rinse the brine off when you take it out. I have tried that too.
